What is the stand of leftists and liberals on celebrating valentine day?

Do they regard this as a capitalist culture? Is celebrating valentine day celebrated by toiling masses?
or they think this valentine day is promoted by business houses to promote their articles?

The same as of right-winged people and conservatives.
Well, without the complaints of it being a godless pagan ritual. And it we don’t think it’s all done by communists, socialists, Muslims and, worst of all, atheists. And we don’t think that having valentine’s day sex will send you into an eternal pit of torture.
If you can be immature and make grossly overstated stereotypes of other people’s opinions, so can I.
So how about you stop saying everyone who does not want to murder abortion doctors (I’m afraid that might not even be a stereotype) wants an Atheist Communist motherland to be established in America, and we’ll stop saying you’re bible-thumping morons who make a room full of chimpanzees who have just been given a single banana look like the pinacle of civilization*.
* Sorry, but it’s simply a fact that that is the case with FOX news. We have a scientific duty to tell the truth, so we won’t bargain on that regard: FOX news does make a room full of monkeys sound like the Roman Senate, and their writers make a room full of monkeys with typewriters seem like Shakespeare.
it is not our culture, similarly it is not a communist culture and it is a culture of the capitalists, no doubt. But, i don’t think communists would encourage these mad things. why ? i respect them for their good and strict ideology and principles which always aim on poor, down trodden and surely not on lazies and uncultured ones. As you pointed out, it is the culture of capitalists, and therefore no regards from leftists and liberals, i think.
The modern Valentine’s day is not Saint Valentine’s day rather Hallmark Valentine’s day. This is highly commercialized most of the people who celebrate this day across the world or oppose this day in India and Pakistan don’t even know what is this day all about.
It does not matter whether it is Indian culture or western culture, it is an occasion to express love and there is nothing wrong in that. People share gifts and feelings on this day. There is nothing to oppose in that. There is nothing against Indian culture, though this is not Indian festival. If Diwali can be celebrated in While House, if Christmas can be celebrated across India, then what is the objection against Valentine’s day?
Valentine’s day is named after one or more early Christian martyrs named Valentine and was established by Pope Gelasius I in AD 496. It is traditionally a day on which lovers express their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as “valentines”). The holiday first became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.
Modern Valentine’s Day symbols include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten valentines have largely given way to mass-produced greeting cards.
The sending of Valentines was a fashion in nineteenth-century Great Britain, and, in 1847, Esther Howland developed a successful business in her Worcester, Massachusetts home with hand-made Valentine cards based on British models. The popularity of Valentine cards in 19th century America, where many Valentine cards are now general greeting cards rather than declarations of love, was a harbinger of the future commercialization of holidays in the United States. It’s considered one of the Hallmark holidays.
The U.S. Greeting Card Association estimates that approximately one billion valentines are sent each year worldwide, making the day the second largest card-sending holiday of the year, behind Christmas. The association estimates that, in the US, men spend on average twice as much money as women.

All Christians (conservative and liberal alike) should appreciate this martyr who died about 269 C.E.
Little is known for sure about Valentine. Whoever he was, Valentine really existed because archaeologists have unearthed a Roman catacomb and an ancient church dedicated to Saint Valentine. In 496 C.E. Pope Gelasius marked February 14th as a celebration in honor of his martyrdom.
A book published in 1493 tells this story: Valentine was a Roman priest martyred during the reign of Claudius the Goth [Claudius II].
Since he was caught marrying Christian couples and aiding any Christians who were being persecuted under Emperor Claudius in Rome [when helping them was considered a crime], Valentine was arrested and imprisoned.
Claudius took a liking to this prisoner — until Valentine made a strategic error: he tried to convert the Emperor — whereupon this priest was condemned to death.
He was beaten with clubs and stoned; when that didn’t do it, he was beheaded outside the Flaminian Gate [circa 269].
One legend says, while awaiting his execution, Valentine restored the sight of his jailer’s blind daughter.
Another legend says, on the eve of his death, he penned a farewell note to the jailer’s daughter, signing it, “From your Valentine.”
St. Valentine is the Patron Saint of affianced couples, bee keepers, epilepsy, fainting, greetings, happy marriages, love, lovers, plague, travelers, young people.

With love in Christ.
Valentine’s Day in the last 12 to 15 years has been highly commercialized. So obviously, the stand of the leftists and liberals would be anti because it would be deemed a capitalist culture.Let us face facts. In
India toiling masses who are struggling to eke out a decent living have no time to celebrate even traditional festivals leave alone something like Valentine’s Day.They wouldn’t even know what the day is all about.Have a Nice Day.
