What does a person being your Valentine imply?

I am basically wondering what the difference is between a Valentine vs a girlfriend.

So I am planning to ask this girl that isn’t my girlfriend to be my Valentine. I don’t have any immediate plans to make this girl my girlfriend either. I simply want to spend Valentine’s Day with her. Is this common? If she says yes does this imply I can treat her like a girlfriend for a day (hugs, kisses, etc…)? What would be a good gift for this scenario other than flowers?

Thank you.

“Be my Valentine” can mean anything from, “Be my casual friend” to “Be my lover,” so if you really want to “treat her like a girlfriend for a day,” you’d better be specific about what you mean when you ask her to be your Valentine. Just the word “Valentine” by itself is too vague.

Yea that’s a good question! When I was way younger, I just thought it meant someone would ask bc they liked you and you would exchange Valentine Day cards, chocolates or a little teddy bear hehe. I think you just have to make it clear what you want- Valentine as a friend or maybe more, etc. :)

Dear Poor Faraway,
Please be calm down. I think you are confusing between girlfriend and Valentine.
Usually, girlfriend is your Valentine.
So why you are looking for another girlfriend?
Do you have any loyalty in your love?
Will your girlfriend be sad?
Therefore, stop and catch your bad thinking before you will do any bad things.
Take care,
