Valentine Gifts to Pakistan

Valentine’s Day is celebrated on 14 Feb every year. Valentine’s Day belongs to St. Valentine’s. In third Century Rome was ruled by emperor named Claudius. He wanted very big army to fight and expected to young men join army as volunteer but the most men do not want to join as they don’t want to leave his wife and families. Suddenly Claudius think that if the young men do not marry they will sure to join army so he decided not to allow any more marriages.

The idea was rubbish and all Rome did not like it including St. Valentine was famous for arranging marriages and continue to keep on marriages during the new law. Emperor Claudius thrown St. Valentine in jail and punished him for death. Many young people come and visited him and give Roses and Flowers and appreciate his effort. On February 14, 269 A.D  St. Valentine’s died.

From then the 14 Feb. renowned as Valentine’s Day and the day belongs to expression of Love. Now this occasion is celebrated all over the world. Same in Pakistan as well and after the media boom its been celebrated widely across Pakistan specially in major cities of Pakistan like Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, Jehlum, MirPur, Gujrat, Quetta, Hyderabad, Mardan, Nawabshah, Peshawar, Rahim Yaar Khan etc. Most TV channels organized Valentine’s Day with different programs and shows.

In Pakistan Valentines Day is specially celebrated by young couples, engaged and Lovers. Exchanging Red Roses is the most important and common, also Greeting Cards, Chocolates, heart shape balloons and other heart shape products. Most of Gift and Flower Shop in Pakistan is decorated in the month of February with red color scheme according to Valentine’s Day and items are on sale for Valentine’s Day. We can easily saw huge rush on shops from 1st Feb. to 14 of Feb. mostly cities like Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.
